All year round, nearby Lyndon State College offers year round swimming. In the summertime, you can enjoy swimming in several of the Northeast Kingdom's beautiful lakes, ponds, rivers and secluded swimming holes.

• Lyndon State College: College Road in Lyndonville. Pool hours for public swimming vary.
  
  
• Crystal Lake: Route 5 in Barton, 15 minutes northwest of West Burke. This lake is known for its well-kept beaches and ideal barbecue spots.
  
  
• Willoughby Lake: Route 5A, 15 minutes north of West Burke. Because this is a glacial carved lake, the water may be a little cool, but the views are outstanding! Great hiking trails run on each side of the lake high above.
  
  
• Island Pond: 30 minutes north of the Wellness Center, this village boasts a lake with nice beaches and few crowds.
